WVFPD is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter.

Subject Line: Recruitment / Prospective Member
Include: Your full name, full address with cross street, age, and a brief description of your experience and reason for interest in the WVFPD.

We are willing to train anyone with the right attitude, plus we are eager to find people with any of the following credentials:

  • CPR/First Aid
  • Emergency First Responder
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Basic
  • EMT-IV
  • EMT- Paramedic
  • Any other advanced medical certification
  • FF1 (Firefighter 1) and FF2
  • State or national fire officer certification
  • NWCG Wildland Fire Qualifications

All prospective members are subject to a criminal background check, driving record check, and a probationary period.

We encourage men and women of 18 years of age and older to apply. Younger individuals are encouraged to contact the explorer scouts.

 

All Firefighters are expected to live within 5 minutes non-emergent from our station to allow for a timely response to emergency incidents
