About Us

fireteam

The Woodmen Valley Fire Protection District proudly protects an area of just under 3 square miles. This department has served the small area between the U.S. Air Force Academy and the City of Colorado Springs since 1959.

To view a satellite photo of our coverage area, please right-click on this link and select "Open in New Window"\ Coverage Area  (Please be patient, this takes a minute or two to launch.) Our district primarily covers the region north of Woodmen Road.

Like most other departments, most of the calls within our district are medical-related. But we also respond to a significant number of calls in response to our mutual aid agreement with other fire departments in the north-western part of El Paso County. Most of these calls are either structure fires or wildland fires.

We provide Basic Life Support services in conjunction with our Advanced Life Support transport provider, American Medical Response.

Regular training sessions are held each Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the station and several weekends throughout each month. Probationary firefighter training is held the first Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m.
